Discrimination, a plague?

What is discrimination? It’s the action of separating someone from the rest of the population and being ruder with him. The majority of the time, those persons, doesn’t deserve it. It happened because the other persons are jealous, scared or those people are a visible minority so they can be easily put out of the society. In the movie Phenomenon, the discrimination took a lot of place in the life of George Malley because since he has seen the light in the sky, his intellectuals faculties developed and his intelligence grew each day. He also has powers. Because it was scary and he was not anymore like everyone, George was no more rejected.

Change is inevitable. Our society is evolving and sometimes, those movements in the life of peoples scared them. They are not familiarizing to those new things and they don’t know what it is, so it makes them scared. So, everyone goes away from those persons because they are different, but in reality they are the same. George Malley were still the same guy except that his IQ grew a lot, he knew more things, learned quicker and had super power. His personality and his values did not change, the women, he loved, was the same before and after he sees the light.

Our society is not perfect. Too often, we judge others without really knowing how they are and what happens to them. We must take the time to know someone before accept him like a friend or ignore him. It happens so many times that a bad reputation or a first judgment that was erroneous broke a relation before it even starts. The good point is that we can easily change this habit and become a better citizen each day by trying to know the others persons better to help the relationships.

By the end of the movie, George goes at the books exposition to prove to the world that he was a normal human and they don’t have any reason to be scared of him. The only thing that makes him different than the others was his superior intelligence. In the bottom of his heart, he only wanted, to help the rest of the population. George hopes that if they know him better they will realize who he really is.

To conclude, more it changes, more it’s the same. The things that we don’t know or things that are different than the normal are so many times subject of discrimination. Discrimination is their and it will continue until everyone choose to make a difference. It’s maybe never going to happen so we will have to live with it. Keep up in mind that nobody is perfect so we always can improve our relationship and put away the discrimination.
